Maintenance of Matriculation

Graduate students who have completed all required coursework but have not yet satisfied thesis, dissertation, capstone, or other culminating degree requirements must maintain active enrollment through Maintenance of Matriculation or an equivalent continuation registration status as defined by the graduate program. Maintenance of Matriculation:

• preserves active student status

• supports continued faculty supervision and access to University resources

• allows degree completion following coursework

• does not constitute course enrollment

Programs define the registration mechanism and credit designation for Maintenance of Matriculation in accordance with University policy.

Students who do not register for Maintenance of Matriculation and are not on approved leave may lose matriculated status.
